Amanda R. Otten’s Commissioning Terms of Service
By agreeing to commission me, you are also agreeing to the following Terms of Service.
As a part of the commission, I remain the author of the illustration - you do not purchase authorship. The illustration is also sold without a commercial license and is intended for private use only. If seeking business and/or commercial artworks, please reach out to me at arotten.art@gmail.com and we can discuss the project further.
By submitting payment, you are agreeing to give proper credit on your commission if posted to social media. You do not hold the right of distribution, and you may not use it for personal gain. Under no circumstances are you allowed to use my work for NFTs or for AI use / training. I retain the right to use the finished illustration in my portfolio and other socials.
Limitations
Services My services extend only to original characters, no commercially-owned characters and/or IPs that belong to a trademarked entity are allowed. I will draw characters belonging to a commercial entity (i.e. Star Wars) as long as they are original in nature.
Collaboration I am highly collaborative! I truly want this piece to be something we create together. Do not hesitate to be honest and ask for revisions if needed - I want this to be a piece that we both love.
NSFW Sexy themes and partial nudity is permitted, but I will not draw full nudity or sexually explicit content.
Backgrounds ‘Simple Background’ refers to either a simple color, a simple effect (ie watercolor, gradient), or a transparent close-up of the finished piece. If you would like a detailed background, or for your character to be in an illustrated scene, there is an additional charge.
Socials All pieces will be posted to my socials shortly after finished files are sent. If you would like your piece to be kept a secret, or be posted at a later date, please let me know.
Refusal I retain the right to refuse any commission.
Refunds Once payment has been collected and a first sketch has been sent, there are no refunds. If you reach out before I have sent the first sketch, I will refund the full amount paid.
Process
Confirmation All of my commissions are on a first-come, first-serve basis. Once your slot has been confirmed by me, an invoice will be sent through Paypal to the email provided. You have seven (7) days to pay the first installment or your slot will be given to the next in line.
Payment All payment is made through Paypal. Portraits are full payment upfront, while every other commission type is 50% upfront, the other 50% on completion. I will send a confirmation email once the first installment is received, and then work on the piece will begin.
Drawing Process I have three main phases in my process - the Initial Sketch phase, the Final Lines & Flat Color phase, and the Final Pass. At each of these phases, I encourage collaboration - revisions are available at each stage, as needed. See Revisions below for more regarding edits.
Revisions I allow two (2) major revisions after the first sketch is presented. (A major revision is a total redraw of a pose, or the like) Any major edits past the first two will incur a 50% fee of the base price. Minor edits (such as color changes, changing an expression, or reworking a limb), are allowed; however, I will limit these per my discretion.
Finished Piece Once the final piece is agreed upon and full payment has been received, two high resolution images (JPG & PNG) will be sent via a Google Drive link.
